Prayers for Advent: A prayer guide for each Sunday of Advent is in your mailbox this morning to focus us in prayer over these next weeks as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ's birth. Let's join together in reflecting on our FAITH and the HOPE, LOVE, JOY and PEACE that is ours in Jesus as we invite Him to go deeper! Additional copies are available at the Information Desk and on the church website.
Worship Night: There will be no worship night tonight.
Year End Giving: We are asking the congregation to prayerfully consider how you have been blessed financially this year and to give as you are able to help us finish the year in good shape. Donations must be received by Dec. 31th to be eligible for a tax receipt for 2022.
All e-transfers must be done by Dec. 30th.
Meal train: Hannah Lasher arrived on Sun, Dec. 4th. Parents, appreciate some delivered meals during a couple of the weeks that Adriana is gaining back her strength and the family is settling into a new normal. A meal train has been set up for them. Lost & Found: If you or someone you know has lost an item here at the church recently or in the past couple months, please take some time to check out the Lost & Found bin, now located at the Info Desk. All items not claimed by December 31st will go to The Belleville Thrift Store.
Out of Egypt into a Good Land: Join Under the Fig Tree Ministries teacher Rev. George DeJong on a 2-week trip from Nov. 9th - 22nd, 2023 to Egypt and Israel to experience the lands of the Bible. Pastor George is a gifted teacher with a pastor’s heart – a real shepherd! – who led the Canadian pastors on similar trips. This tour is designed as a “Bus/Walker Tour” for those whose mobility and stamina is a concern. This is a great trip for seniors and their children. Unfortunately, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated for this trip. Contact Pastor Richard Bodini at Pastor.Bodini@HCH.ca for more information. There is room for 45 people. An information session in person and remote access is being planned for January, 2023.
Christmas Gift Cards: Every year Benevolence helps many who are struggling financially by giving them grocery gift cards for Christmas. They are from our church community and those who are referred to us through a connection in the church. If you would like to help by donating to this cause, please fill out the bulletin insert. Cheques should be made out to Maranatha but marked as benevolence gift cards. Forms must be filled and returned by Sunday, Dec. 25th.
Room & Board: A Christian woman, and a member of the Maranatha community, is facing difficult financial times and is looking for a Christian home in which to board. She would be a quiet and respectful guest. She can afford to pay $525 per month. If you think you can help, or want more information, call the church office at (613) 962-2062.

Looking to Rent: A couple in our church community are in urgent need of a place to rent. They have a budget of around $700 - $1000 and are looking in Belleville or Trenton. SoCo Beach Project: Summer Young Adult Discipleship Experience: Are you or is someone you know a young adult (18 - 29) looking to dig deeper into the life of faith and what impact that has on their unfolding life story? Check out the SoCo Beach Project - an intentional Christian community experience from May - August located in Port Dover, Ontario. Applications are open for SoCo 2023- deadline is Jan. 16, 2023. The Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre is excited to share a Matching Gift Campaign. The campaign will run until Friday, Dec. 30th. Every donation up to $10, 000 will be doubled. The funds raised will go towards supporting all the programs and services at the Centre. Christmas New Years Worship Schedule:
· Saturday, December 24th — 6:00 PM Christmas Eve Service—There will be childcare for infants to kindergarten.
· Sundays December 25th and January 1st – 10:00 am as usual.
· There will be no New Years Eve service.
Holiday Hours: The church office will be CLOSED from Mon, Dec. 26th to Wed, Dec. 28th, and Mon, Jan. 2nd to Tuesday, Jan 3rd. Otherwise, office hours will remain the same.
Special GriefShare Event - Maranatha Church will be hosting a special 2 hour GriefShare seminar called Loss of a Spouse on Sat, Jan. 28th, 2023 from 2 - 4pm. If you or someone you know is grieving the death of a spouse you are welcome to attend or encourage someone else to attend. We understand that it must be very difficult to lose someone who has been so close to you and want to be there for you. The seminar consists of a video of teaching by grief counsellors as well as sharing of experiences by people who have had this type of loss. Discussion where everyone may share, led by experienced facilitators, will follow. A special guide book will further help you through your journey of grief.
