God Moving At Maranatha

GROWING YOUNG
Our young adults are a vital part of our church. Record numbers of young adults have been coming out to Tuesday night gatherings this year. Adam Stickland, the director of our young adult ministry reports that over 50% of those young adults who call Maranatha their home are serving in the church in some capacity. Whether through the Worship ministry, teen ministry, tech ministry, or some other form of leadership, our young adults are making an explosive impact at Maranatha!
Because we want to have an even better environment for young adults to grow and thrive, we recently launched a “Growing Young” team. This team is reading the book Growing Young put out by the Fuller Youth Institute. It compiles the results of thorough research that explains why some churches succeed in engaging the hearts of young adults and why some do not.
After reading and discussing the book, our team hopes so survey the church to learn more about the values, attitudes, and practices present here that are either helping or hindering young adult ministry. From our study of the book and the survey results, we hope to formulate an action plan that Council can consider and implement.
We believe the Holy Spirit is doing something wonderful in and through our young adults. Our team wants to partner with the Spirit to fan the flame. If you have any questions, or want to give input about “growing young” at Maranatha, feel free to contact any of our team members: Gabe and Emily McKay, Rheanna Rosenthal, Wanda Thompson, Pastor Mike, or myself.
